From the holistic point of view of tourist experts, the Montafon is a surprising and successful exception in the Alps. Positioned at the northern edge of the Alps, there are copious quantities of natural snow on the high mountains – a real boon for winter sports enthusiasts. During summer, the landscape invites a wide range of activities – a plus for all nature lovers.
„Our mainly international customers visit us and, at all times of the year, are enthusiastic about the location, the freshness and cleanliness of the valley. For many, a business appointment in the Montafon prompted them to take their next holiday in the area. And likewise, our members of staff appreciate the natural environment and the tourist infrastructure with its numerous leisure and sporting activities.”

In addition, the 13 localities in the Montafon have many modern tourist facilities that are open throughout the year. This includes the option of applying artificial snow to 70 percent of the ski pistes. Here, in this valley, the season lasts all year – your investment pays for itself day after day, and all round.

INVESTMENTS FOR NEW HEIGHTS
In 1937, Austria’s largest ski-jump facility at the time was created in Tschagguns and used for numerous ski-jumping events until it was taken out of service in the 1960s. Having been re-opened in
2014, the Tschagguns ski-jump centre is resplendent in its new design, with four jumps carved into the mountainside and finished with a mat covering, including service buildings and a rail shuttle.
With this development the Montafon looks to the future: in addition to the training centre for future ski-jumpers, the new ski-jump centre will again serve for numerous ski-jumping competitions such as the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2015.
SEASON IS: ALWAYS AND EVERYWHERE
Active holidays from May to November or classic winter holidays from December to April – guests are welcomed to the Montafon throughout the year: 360° tourism. This is made possible, in the first place, by Mother Nature, with its locations at different altitudes and, in the second place, by the modern and comprehensive infrastructure. This needs to be maintained and further expanded. So that the facilities on offer in the valley remain as versatile as its visitors. Investment in 360° tourism is worth it, all round.
